„Reconnections“ will begin Nida Jazz Marathon and will join different shores of the Baltics in Curonian Spit. Three master improvisers from Poland  and festival resident Jan Maksimovič and producer Leonidas Šinkarenka from Lithianian side.

 

VINCENT PEIRANI (France)

Vincent Peirani – accordion

“You have never heard that kind of music which is played by this Nice born Paris resident”, Süddeutsche Zeitung.  Vincent Peirani  – intelectural, thoughtful composer, master performer and talented story teller. His music soaked with jazz rock spirit and changes meaning of accordeon in XXI century.

Bassmati is collective which palys electronic music, leaded by Germany based multiinstrumentalist Martin Furmann. They  are energetic, intriguing, and minimalistic. Their music builds colourful soundscapes and electronic rhytms. „Move your legs, the rest will come…“, says Trio members.

Harry Sokal is going to present his recent compositions „Refire“ with his project „Depart“ in Nida. The steam engine of the group – double bass palayer Heiri Känzig is collaborating with Harry Sokal for many years. “Forthcoming adventure in search of the new outskirts”, that is how they call their music. For this expedition Harry and Heiri invitied emerging star of young generation Martin Valihor.

NORA JEAN BRUSO & LUCA GIORDANO BAND (USA, Italy)

Authenthic and deep blues vibes in Nida Jazz Marathon. “Nora Jean sounds just like I did when I was her age. She is one of the new upcoming women that’s singing the real blues. I know she is going to make it.” – Koko Taylor. It seems to be reliable recomendation for authoritative music legend. Epithets such as real and authentic are intriguint the audience. Who else if not the Missisipi Delta born artist from family with deep roots in blues and gospel could perform this music better like it is written in history books.
