Vilnius JJAZZ Ensemble is a jazz orchestra led by a Lithuanian composer, arranger, and trombonist Jievaras Jasinskis.
The ensemble released its debut album ‘American Stories’ in 2022. Original compositions for the ensemble were created by Jievaras Jasinskis and Liutauras Janušaitis. In January 2023, the ensemble presented a saxophone group album ‘Saxcess’, and their third collective album ‘Deadly Dance’ appeared in June 2023, with compositions by Jievaras Jasinskis and Dorotėja Būdaitė. In March 2024, ensemble composers Jievaras Jasinskis, Domantas Razmus, and Simonas Šipavičius released the fourth album RAVENJAZZ. The ensemble is currently recording the fifth album ‘Odd Numbers’. This program will be presented by the ensemble at the Nida Jazz Festival.
In 2022, the Vilnius JJAZZ Ensemble became the performers for director D. Ulvydas’s cinema concert and the film ‘Vilnius Poker’ based on the book by R. Gavelis. The ensemble also took on the role of the flag-bearer for Vilnius’s 700th birthday and together with the Vilnius City Municipality, gave the city of Vilnius an unforgettable live music celebration.
