Founded in 1992, the orchestra is one of Lithuania’s leading chamber ensembles, renowned for its professionalism, cohesive sound, and ever-evolving programs.
The Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra presents a wide musical spectrum – from Baroque to contemporary works while actively performing both in Lithuania and internationally, and fostering new concert traditions. Educational initiatives also play an important role in its activities, nurturing a curious and open-minded audience.
Since 2009, under the artistic direction of M. Bačkus, the orchestra has been shaped as a creative community and a living musical laboratory. His vision has inspired significant artistic development, resulting in hundreds of concert programs performed on prestigious stages in Lithuania and abroad.
