Dear jazz world inhabitants,
I address You in this way for a reason - not
only because jazz has always been the music that can be compared to the
world, as it combines various sounds, accords, styles and melodies, but also
because this year‘s Nida Jazz Marathon will attempt to take the audience to the
centre of the world.
This summer Nida will be the gathering grounds
for musicians who like to be everywhere: while performing in various countries all over the world, they bravely
try out new ideas, and their music displays all the experience they accumulate. In every accord they connect and re-interpret
their previously visited countries and their music; with every accord they try
to achieve something new, and, most importantly, they do all that with great
enjoyment. I believe we will all feel that enjoyment and Nida will, for a
couple of days, become the centre of the jazz world.
Thus, let me invite You to spend the last
weekend of July – the 29-30th – at the Nida quay and enjoy the music, the sea
and the summer freedom with the beautiful sights of the Curonian Spit in the
background.
